This Sunday, 21st June, marks the official first day of summer - the Summer Solstice and the longest day of the year. With warmer weather, lighter evenings and more opportunities to get outdoors, it's the perfect time to focus on your health and wellbeing.

At Forever Health Studios, we're all for making the most of the sunshine. After all,

spending time outdoors can boost your mood, reduce stress and help your body

produce vitamin D. However, summer health isn't just about finding the perfect spot in the garden and lying in the sun all day!

Relaxation Is Important... But So Is Movement

Life can be busy, and taking time to relax is essential for both physical and mental

wellbeing. A few hours with a good book in the sunshine can do wonders for helping you unwind.

However, our bodies are designed to move. Prolonged periods of inactivity can leave us feeling sluggish, stiff and low on energy. Summer offers the ideal opportunity to combine relaxation with gentle activity.

The good news? Staying active doesn't have to mean intense workouts or spending hours in the gym. Get Out and Explore Nature

One of the simplest ways to stay active this summer is by enjoying the great

outdoors.

Why not:

  • Take a walk through a local woodland and enjoy the sights and sounds of

nature

  • Stroll along a river or lakeside path and enjoy the calming effect of the water

  • Explore a new walking route you've never tried before

  • Visit a local park or nature reserve

Research continues to show that spending time in nature can help reduce stress,

improve mood and support overall wellbeing. Sometimes all it takes is 30 minutes

away from screens and surrounded by greenery to feel refreshed.

Try Something New

Summer is also a fantastic time to step outside your comfort zone and try a new

hobby or activity.

You could:

  • Dust off your bike and go for a ride

  • Try open-water swimming or visit your local pool

  • Join an outdoor yoga class

  • Start gardening

  • Take up photography and capture local scenery

  • Give a new sport a try

Learning something new keeps both your body and mind engaged, helping to build confidence and create positive habits that can last long beyond the summer months.

Small Changes Can Make a Big Difference

Remember, being active doesn't mean you need to train for a marathon. Small,

consistent actions can have a significant impact on your health.

Choosing a walk instead of another hour on the sofa, exploring a new place at the

weekend, or taking up a hobby, you've always been curious about can all contribute to improved physical and mental wellbeing.

Make This Summer Count

As we welcome the first day of summer, challenge yourself to make the most of the longer days. Enjoy time to relax and recharge, but also look for opportunities to move more, explore nature and try something new.

Your mind and body will thank you for it.

From everyone at Forever Health Studios, here's to a healthy, active and enjoyable

summer!
